Steve Struthers – President and Owner
Steve has 23 years’ experience in kitchen and bath design and drafting with an additional 10 years’ experience in home remodeling. He is a member of NAHB (National Associate of Home Builders) and was named the local NAHB Associate of the Year in 2002.
Steve earned his business management skills as a student of Morningside College.
Steve’s hobbies include golf, spending time with his family and volunteering for the community civic service organization Sertoma, of which he was named Local Sertoman of the Year in 1999.
While growing up, Steve’s propensity towards remodeling and design grew as he helped with several remodeling projects. This interest led to a career in remodeling and new residential construction. Later, he made the transition to the up-and-coming world of kitchen and bath design and remodeling.
Steve’s outlook on design and remodeling is centered on the principles that the right amount of time and consideration should be put into all projects and decisions. Customers will live with these choices for years to come and Steve makes is top priority to explore different approaches before deciding on an appropriate solution.

Breanna “Breezy” Struthers Drake – Designer, Computer Support, Sales
A lifetime spent in the construction and kitchen business has given Breezy the chance to know the industry’s many ins and outs. Working alongside her father, Modern Kitchen Design’s president and owner, Breezy helps maintain our organized office, performing computer-related tasks consisting of ordering, designing, information technology and more.
Breezy’s interests focus on the outdoors: hiking, camping, boating, etc. She also loves ballet and live music and is always involved in such activities with her five-year-old son.
Having always had a flair for design, Breezy’s work here at Modern Kitchen Design is committed to providing our clients with professional service and gorgeous designs.

Dick Krommenhoek – Sales/Design Consultant
Richard’s expertise stems from 30 years in the kitchen and bath design industry, interior design and home remodeling. He has an additional 34 years’ experience in drafting.
His hobbies include sports, gardening, drawing, painting, photography and woodwork.
He has been the proud recipient of several national design awards and is honored to have designed kitchens for a range of clients, including those in New York, Minneapolis, San Francisco and Kuwait.
Richard makes every attempt to first form a clear outline of his clients’ needs, before any work has even begun. He feels that only by first developing this picture can a client-centered design begin to work.

Nancy J. Sissel – Designer
Nancy has 25 years’ experience in interior design, 20 years’ experience in home remodeling and over four years in kitchen and bath design. She is also a member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers.)
Nancy holds an Associate’s degree of Art in Interior Design.
Her hobbies include playing the guitar and golfing.
Her philosophy regarding design is based on form and functionality. She strives to create an environment that is not only beautiful, but functional as well. She works closely with all her clients to ensure that the finished design reflects each client’s individual tastes and style.

Mark Tucker – Purchasing Manager
Mark’s invaluable industry knowledge comes from over 30 years’ experience. Among his many tasks, Mark manages our stock, maintaining familiarity with the many manufacturers that Modern Kitchen Design carries.
Mark’s hobbies consist of politics, geology and spelunking.
Mark received his BA in from Morningside College and his Master’s from the University of South Dakota.
Modern Kitchen Design relies on Mark’s knowledge to help us supply our customers with the perfect product necessary to complete their projects.

Paul Skouge
Paul's extensive understanding of construction makes sure that everything runs smoothly here at Modern Kitchen Design. A member of our team for over six years, Paul has been a long-time family friend.
His hobbies include fishing, campin, ATVs and restoring pool tables.
Paul works directly with our contractors, ensuring that all the installation process is trouble-free. He is also in charge of making all deliveries and handling all shop issues.
